I am fascinated by the shape of the grounds after pushing the water and remaining air through them. I had expected that the grounds would settle in a more disc-fashion. I assume the 3-D Poisson-like distribution is due to the way the holes around the circumference direct the flow, but before I hurt my brain, has anyone modeled this? – From Mike K.

I've never seen any shape other than a cylinder. We call it a "puck". It's flat on the top and the bottom.
